An increasingly confused Joe Biden is again admitting that he has no idea what to do about high gas prices.
Just last month, Biden debuted a talking point that essentially amounted to admission of defeat; that gas prices actually should actually be doing down… they just aren’t for some unknown reason. “There’s a lot of evidence gas prices should be going down, but they haven’t. We’re taking a close look at that” he said. There’s still no update on what results that “close look” yielded.
He has since asked oil and natural gas companies to lower their prices, which obviously didn’t work.
The subject of gas prices, which now average $3.38/gallon nationwide, came up again during the CNN town hall Biden participated in last night. Biden didn’t even attempt to give any false impression that he’d be able to fix the problem, and admitted that he “doesn’t see” any reason gas prices should come down in the near future, but added that they might next year.
He also admitted that he had no “near term” answer on gas prices, which leads to the obvious question of why he thinks he’ll be able to fix high gas prices in 2022 if he can’t today.
