The numbers for March are in, and they prove that the Biden border crisis is only getting worse.

As Fox News reported:

Border officials encountered 172,000 migrants at the border in March, a 71% increase from February and the latest indicator of the extent of the crisis at the southern border.

Of the 172,000 migrants encountered, the majority were single adults, and included 18,890 unaccompanied children — a 100% increase from the already high numbers encountered in February, and the largest monthly number in more than a decade. In February, 100,441 migrants overall were encountered.

This represents the highest monthly total in fifteen years, and is five times more than March of last year.

For all the hysteria over “kids in cages” during the Trump administration, there was a peak 2,600 minors detained under Trump. Now under Biden it’s on track to hit 20,000.

Naturally Biden is trying to blame Trump for this crisis, which is odd, because undoing many parts of Trump’s immigration agenda via executive order happened on the first day of his presidency. If there are any specific Trump policies to blame, we haven’t been informed of them.

The White House has yet to acknowledge that the border crisis is a “crisis,” instead opting to blame it on seasonal trends. But that doesn’t explain it, because illegal crossings are still at record levels today relative to past years during the same time period.

As they put forward no solutions, and as “Border Czar” Kamala Harris remains MIA at the border, Biden’s own DHS could take some matters into their own hands. According to Breitbart:

An exclusive report from Washington Times reporter Stephen Dinan suggests that DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is considering restarting border wall construction to fill in “gaps” that exist after former President Trump’s administration constructed 450 miles from 2017 to 2020.

Dinan reports: “In a conversation with ICE employees last week Mr. Mayorkas was asked about his plans for the wall and he said that while Mr. Biden has canceled the border emergency and halted Pentagon money flowing to the wall, “that leaves room to make decisions” on finishing some “gaps in the wall.” Mr. Mayorkas, according to notes of the ICE session reviewed by The Washington Times, said Customs and Border Protection, which oversees the wall, has submitted a plan for what it wants to see happen moving forward.”

Mayorkas reportedly added that while Biden communicated that he wants construction of the border to end, they (the DHS) have room “to make decisions as the administration, as part of the administration, in particular areas of the wall that need renovation, particular projects that need to be finished.”
