The Associated Press has just reported that “Turkey’s Defense Ministry says Turkish ground forces have moved across the border to fight against Kurdish fighters in northeastern Syria, hours after Turkish jets and artillery pounded areas in Syria’s northern border.”
The Turkish Ministry says Turkish troops, “joined by allied Syrian opposition forces, moved into Syria on Wednesday. It did not provide further details.” The Arab League has responded saying “foreign ministers from around the region will meet to discuss Turkey’s military operation in northern Syria” which will take place in “Cairo on Saturday.”
