Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot (Democrat) has made it a top priority for the city’s residents to stay home amidst the Chinese coronavirus. In fact, aside from her Stay at Home Order and closing of iconic areas of the city, including Chicago’s Lakefront, Lightfoot has even added the mantra to her Twitter handle.

But, following in the footsteps of New York City gym enthusiast Bill de Blasio, Lightfoot was caught violating her own rule after a picture of her getting a haircut surfaced.

As reported by the Daily Caller, Lightfoot rationalized her decision saying that, “I’m the public face of this city and you know, I’m a person who [takes] personal hygiene very seriously and I felt like I needed to have a haircut. So I got a haircut.”
She also said that her stylist wore a mask and gloves during the haircut and kept proper distancing, but the picture showed none of that to be true.
It shouldn’t be surprising that the politicians who want to rule over everyone else also feel that the rules don’t apply to them. Because, of course, they think they are our betters and have a right to. Unamerican as can be.
