Senator Chuck Schumer gave Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) some great ideas for what to cut next while fearmongering over what they’d cut next.
“This weekend, DOGE staffers also executed what can only be described as an illegal seizure of the U.S. Agency for International Development, or USAID,” Schumer said, relaying the best news from the weekend.
Then he accidentally provided DOGE with some great ideas. “We also know this is just the beginning. If DOGE attacks USAID today, then you can be sure they will move on to another target tomorrow,” he said.
“Who knows? Maybe it will be the Postal Service, or the IRS, or the Social Security Administration? They could be next, or maybe our national security agencies.”
One can hope.
He then continued cycling through some generic fearmongering, including claiming that Russia supports DOGE.
Yawn.
