CRINGE: Somali Woman’s Viral Answer Is Woke DEI Backfiring

A Somali woman went viral after she was unable to describe what being Somali-American is like, repeatedly comparing it to "bananas and rice."
"I'm proud to be Somali. To me, being Somali isn't just eating bananas with rice. It's a lot. It's like... It's kind of like the bananas and rice," the woman said. "That's what it's like to be Somali and American. It's like that combination of banana and rice."
Host Hayley Caronia quickly highlighted the inconsistency of the woman's answer, pinpointing why the video went viral.
"She says being Somali is not just bananas and rice, but then she couldn't rack her brain to find what being Somali is actually like," Caronia said. "It's not just bananas and rice, but it's bananas and rice and it's bananas and rice and it's bananas and rice. That's all she could come up with."
The question, then, is why was the woman paraded in front of the press — and Caronia has a theory.
"They brought her up because she claims to have had this horrific experience with ICE," Caronia began. "My theory is they needed to have a woman sit up here at their press conference because they have to hit their DEI quota. They have to have someone from the Somali community."
"And it backfired big time," Caronia said.
