Democrat pollster Allan Lichtman, who prior to the 2024 election had correctly predicted 9 of the past 10 elections (including Trumpâs 2016 win), has been losing it after his prediction of a Kamala Harris victory was dead wrong.
Lichtman is known for his â13 keysâ prediction system. The keys are a 13-point checklist of true and false statements, and when 5 or fewer items on the checklist are false about the incumbent, the nominee of the incumbent party is predicted to win. When 6 or more items on the checklist are false, the nominee of the challenging party is predicted to win. The keys include things such as having no sustained social unrest during their term, having no scandals, being charismatic, among others. Four of those factors are based on politics, seven on performance, and two on the their personality
A glaring problem with Lichtmanâs system is that itâs entirely subjective, and one could easily argue that he ironically did get it right if his keys were applied correctly (example below):
Once again, this is the correct way to look at Allan Lichtman's 13 Keys, and this is being generous to the Democrats.

Allan applied his keys wrong. You could make arguments about turning others against the Democrats, too. pic.twitter.com/wG068VE4SA
Regardless, Lichtman isnât taking the loss well, and has since blamed disinformation and bigotry for his wrong prediction.
During an amusing episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored, Lichtman exploded when confronted over his election model.
âDonât blame the voters. I think, look, we can get into this discussion but, one, I think youâre blaming the voters. I think itâs a terrible idea,â Cenk Uygur, the host of the liberal show The Young Turks said, calling his model absurd. âI was right, you were wrong.â
The last bit is questionable - before the election Cenkâs official prediction was âI donât know - and Iâm going to stick with I donât think. Which is something I never say. I just think we donât have enough information.â And he did predict that the election wouldn't be a landslide.
Lichtman fired back; âThatâs a cheap shot, and I wonât stand for it. I read your own followersâ comments, and they all trashed you. Every one of them. And they supported me, so quiet with your personal attacks. Make whatever point you want. Donât make it personal.â
And it only got more heated from there.
