Even the Democrats are admitting it’s a disaster.

On Thursday, the Acting U.S. Secret Service Director, Ronald Rowe, updated senators on their investigation into the attempted assassination of Donald Trump - and you don’t need me to tell you that it’s not looking good.

As Fox News reported:

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., predicted that Americans will be "shocked" and "appalled" [when the report is released on the assassination attempt].

"I think the American people are going to be shocked, astonished and appalled by what we will report to them about the failures by the Secret Service in this assassination attempt on the former president," Blumenthal told Fox News. "But I think they also ought to be appalled and astonished by the failure of the Department of Homeland Security to be more forthcoming, to be as candid and frank, as it should be to them in terms of providing information."

Blumenthal didn't go into specifics about what he learned from Thursday's meeting. Despite his statements, other lawmakers refused to comment on how the public may react to their report.

Admittedly, I’m skeptical that we’ll be shocked at all. Given all the incredible failures of the Secret Service that have been revealed, whether it be not securing a roof for bogus reasons about it being sloped, not getting Trump off stage after dozens of people warned about the shooter, allowing the shooter to take a shot before firing back, one of the agents not physically covering Trump after he was shot (and much, much more) - it would have to top all of that to truly be shocking.

The Secret Service originally promised answers within 60 days. It has now been 62 days since Trump was shot.
