Democratic mega donor John Morgan told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo Monday that those who donated to Vice President Kamala Harris were trying to defeat Trump, not elect Harris. “[The money] wasn’t pouring in for Harris; it was pouring in against Trump,” said Morgan.
Morgan's comments come after Politico ran an article reporting that Harris “has been instructing advisers and allies to keep her options open — whether for a possible 2028 presidential run, or even to run for governor in her home state of California in two years.” Per Politico, the vice president has been allegedly repeating on phone calls, “I am staying in the fight.”
Morgan adds that the reported $1.5 billion spent in four months, which put the party into debt, is evidence that Harris should not run for president again. “If you can’t run a campaign, you can’t run America,” he stated.

When asked how he thinks President Joe Biden feels about the 2024 election result, Morgan revealed that, “[Biden] nominated her.” Obama, however, “did not want her.”
“Obama did not endorse her for five days,” explained Morgan. “Pelosi did not want her. Pelosi told her California delegation, there will be a conference, there will be a Caucus, there will be a convention. We basically ran on this deal where democracy, democracy, and then we didn't have democracy in picking our nominee.”
Morgan added that Biden only selected Harris to replace him as the Democratic presidential nominee because, “it was to say, f you to Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama and every representative that was pushing him out.”
