Last year, Dr. Anthony Fauci publicly spoke out against the idea that eventual COVID vaccines would be mandated by the federal government, suggesting that the idea would be simply impossible. “If someone refuses the vaccine in the general public, then there’s nothing you can do about that. You cannot force someone to take a vaccine,” he said back in August 2020.
As is the case with countless things that have come out of Fauci’s mouth, what he says and what he has planned were two entirely different things. He’s since aggressively pushed for COVID vaccine mandates, even for activities where he basically admits they won’t do anything to slow the spread of the virus, but will simply inconvenience people. “A vaccine requirement for a person getting on the plane is just another level of getting people to have a mechanism that would spur them to get vaccinated” he admitted on Sunday’s episode of ABC’s This Week.
He then came short of admitting the mandate wouldn’t be that effective in slow the spread of the virus, before trailing off and telling us that masks on flights aren’t going anywhere anytime soon; “But with regard to the spread of the virus of virus in the country… I mean, I think, if you look at wearing a mask, and the filtration on planes, things are reasonably safe.”
