California Gov. Gavin Newsom wants to be president, but it's clear no one respects him.
While speaking at Davos this week, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent ended up, according to host Vince Coglianese, “b*tch-slapping” Newsom, who abandoned California to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos and buddy up with Alex Soros.
"It's very, very ironic that Gov. Newsom — who strikes me as Patrick Bateman meets 'Sparkle Beach Ken' — may be the only Californian who knows less about economics than Kamala Harris. He's here this week with his billionaire sugar daddy, Alex Soros," Bessent said.
"I was told he was asked to give a speech on his signature policies, but he's not speaking," Bessent continued. "He is here hobnobbing with the global elite while his California citizens are still homeless. Shame on him. He is too smug, too self-absorbed, and too economically illiterate to know anything."
According to Coglianese, there is a very good reason behind Bessent's attack on Newsom.
"Here's what's happening: President Trump goes overseas, he's trying to fight for American interests. Meanwhile, Gavin Newsom, sitting in the cheap seats, is hanging out in the peanut gallery with Alex Soros, plotting against President Trump," Coglianese said. "So, what's Scott Bessent gonna do? Beat him into a pulp."
