If Haiti’s de-facto President Leslie Voltaire is to be believed, his country hasn’t been “sending their best,” as Donald Trump famously said of illegal aliens pouring over the border from Latin America.
Voltaire was appointed to the Transitional Presidential Council, the body temporarily acting as the head of state of Haiti, last year
The Haitian leader stated that receiving the country’s immigrants would be “catastrophic” for his nation, to the point where he’s already asking for help from other countries. “I’m knocking on the doors of people who love Haiti. The pope loves Haiti, and he is eager to help,” Voltaire said.
If the quality of illegal aliens we brought in from Haiti was so low that the nation widely regarded as being the worst on planet Earth doesn’t want them, that already tells you everything you need to know.
Voltaire acknowledged that over 1.5 million Haitians reside in the United States, with more than 150,000 accepted under the “Temporary Protection System.” According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, over 214,000 Haitians were vetted and allowed to travel, while over 210,000 were paroled by the end of August 2024.
