While making an appearance on Joe Rogan, writer Coleman Hughes spoke about his recent debate on The View, where he debated all the hosts, but specifically saw the most venom from Sunny Hostin.
In late March, Hughes appeared on The View (video below) to discuss a book he wrote defending racial colorblindness. Clips from the appearance where Hostin repeatedly stepped on a rake in an attempt to âschoolâ Hughes on the contents of his own book quickly went viral. Many described the exchange as one of Hostinâs most embarrassing yet, though that was premature, as weeks later Hostin would attempt to link cicadas, earthquakes, and the recent solar ellipse to climate change.
Rogan ripped The View while having Hughes on his own show, stating; âIt is the show that people love to hate. They get so much hate-watching (of) viral clips of them saying ridiculous things. It is a rabies-infested hen house.â
âThe most interesting part was that their audience seemed to be on my sideâ Hughes added.
âWell their audience isnât really their audience. Their audience is a group of people they bring in to watch TV. I donât know if youâve ever seen audiences before for TV shows, but a lot of them are paid to be thereâ Rogan pointed out, adding that the only true fans of The View are people who canât leave their houses.
Hughes said, comically, of the debate âI didnât know who Sunny Hostin was. I actually still really donât know. So I wasnât expecting necessarily for her to try to ambush me in that way, and attack my character in that way.â
