A video that could almost pass as an SNL sketch mocking conservatives for having exaggerated fears of DEI is going viral as it shows just how legitimate those fears are.

In a video from years ago now going viral on social media in light of the wildfires ravaging Los Angeles, Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Assistant Chief Kristine Larson defended boosting diversity, and shamed those who would suffer from it.

Larson, who makes $399,000 a year, states, with no evidence whatsoever “You want to see somebody that responds to your house, your emergency — whether it’s a medical call or a fire call — that looks like you. It gives that person a little more ease, knowing that somebody might understand their situation better.”

She then mocked concerns about standards being lowered to accommodate more women firefighters: “[I hear concerns like] ‘Is she strong enough to do this?’ Or ‘You couldn’t carry my husband out of a fire.’ Which my response is, ‘He got himself in the wrong place if I have to carry him out of a fire.’”

Or in other words; “if you need our help, it’s your own fault for needing it”

So crazy were Lardon’s comments that even Pravda, the former newspaper of the Soviet Union, highlighted the absurdity of them.
