Laken Riley’s father Jason Riley spoke before the Georgia Senate, calling on Governor Brian Kemp to declare an invasion to “detain and deport” criminal illegal aliens (also known as illegal aliens).

Riley was murdered last month, and a Venezuelan illegal immigration has been charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, battery, kidnapping, and false imprisonment in her death. Joe Biden infamously ignored this case, only to address it when shamed by Marjorie Taylor Greene - and he couldn’t even pronounce her name correctly, calling her “Lincoln Riley.”

On Monday Jason was on NBC’s “TODAY” show and said that he didn’t want either side of the political aisle to politicize his daughter's death, but since then he’s indicated that aligns ideologically with Trump (who other members of his family have met with) on the issue of immigration.

As the New York Post reported:

“I stand before you, a heartbroken man,” Jason Riley said to the Georgia Senate. “Part of my purpose has been taken. God gave me a beautiful daughter to father, protect, provide for and nurture. A man with an evil heart stole her life. He was in this country and in this state illegally.”

“My vision for every senator in this chamber is that you protect citizens from this illegal invasion,” he said.   “Please recognize over a million illegal aliens are in this state and making families nervous.”

Riley said that Athens-Clarke, where his daughter was murdered, is a sanctuary city, which is responsible for the lack of action that led to his daughter's murder. Some politicians in the county have denied that they’re a sanctuary city, and while Athens-Clarke doesn’t have that official status, they still operate as one regardless of what they want to call themselves. Back in 2018, the Clarke County Sheriff’s office announced that they wouldn’t cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as many cities mindlessly did to spite the Trump administration. While it’s often the case in politics that something is true on paper but not in practice, in this case they’re a sanctuary in practice but not in name - as if that makes a difference.
