The swamp is scoring another victory, as the Manhattan DA will be closing the probe into disgraced former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s nursing home policy without any charges, despite the report from New York AG Letitia James sparking the probe revealing that the state’s Department of Health underreported COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes by as much as 50%.

According to Fox News:

The Manhattan district attorney’s office is closing its investigation into former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s handling of nursing home COVID-19 deaths without bringing charges against Cuomo, according to the former governor’s attorney.

“I was contacted today by the head of the Elder Care Unit from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office who informed me they have closed its investigation involving the Executive Chamber and nursing homes,” Elkan Abramowitz, a former federal prosecutor who had been hired to represent Cuomo, said Monday. “I was told that after a thorough investigation — as we have said all along — there was no evidence to suggest that any laws were broken.”

The aforementioned nursing home report found that “The Cuomoites were publicly citing a nursing-home death toll of about 6,000 by ignoring home residents who’d died while hospitalized. The draft report shared the full count of over 9,700, noting that the homes accounted for “approximately 35 percent” of all NY coronavirus deaths. But [Secretary Melissa] DeRosa — who at the same time was intimately involved in the Gov’s book-deal negotiations — and other staff got all that edited out. The final report said the homes only yielded 21 percent of the state’s virus death total, making it seem below, rather than above, the US average.”  If a nursing home resident caught coronavirus in the home and then was transported to a hospital where they later died, that wasn’t counted as a nursing home death.

When Cuomo’s somehow worse replacement Kathy Hochul took office, the state’s COVID death toll was revised upward by an additional 12,000 deaths.

Cuomo was since ordered to repay the $5.1 million he garnered from his book deal by a state ethics panel.

Meanwhile, the district attorney’s office in Westchester County isn’t perusing criminal charges against Cuomo related to the sexual misconduct allegations that led to his resignation, despite finding them “credible.”
