Further proving they donât even believe their own rhetoric, Morning Joeâs Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski sat down over the weekend with the man they spent nearly a decade comparing to Adolf Hitler.
Mika opened her show this morning by stating that âFive years of political warfare has deeply divided Washington and the country. We have been as clear as we know how in expressing our deep concerns about President Trumpâs actions and words in the coarsening of public debate, but for nearly 80 million Americans, election denialism, public trials, January 6th were not as important as the issues that moved them to send Donald Trump back to the White House with their vote.â
She then admitted, likely to the shock of her audience, that the duo had just met with Trump. âJoe and I realize itâs time to do something different, and that starts with not only talking about Donald Trump, but also talking with him,â she said, mentioning that they discussed abortion, mass deportations, among other issues.
âIt will come as no surprise to anybody who watches this show, has watched it over the past year or over the past decade, that we didnât see eye to eye on a lot of issues and we told him so.â
Mika then added, âWhat we did agree on was to restart communications,â but clarified for her audience that they wouldnât try to âdefend or normalizeâ Trump, as obviously that would cost the duo the few viewers they have left.
To point out the obvious, despite the claims about not âdefend[ing] or normaliz[ing]â Trump, Scarborough and Brzezinski cannot possibly believe the absurd rhetoric theyâd been peddling about him.
