Just a few months later, Nevada now has more registered Republicans than Democrats. As Shay Bottomley reported:
The swing state of Nevada has flipped Red in terms of voter registration numbers, according to new data. Registered Republicans now outnumber Democrats by 187 in the state which Donald Trump won by 3.11 percentage points in November 2024.
A total of 8,186 registered Democrats ditched their party affiliation in January 2025. While the GOP also saw losses, they were less than half of that of their Democratic counterparts (-3,832). The number of Republicans (618,538) in the state is not far from the Election Day 2020 figure of 602,302. It also marks an increase of 7,000 since the most recent presidential election.
On the other hand, the Democrats – once 689,025-strong in Nevada – are now down to 618,352. Despite January’s large-scale losses, the Democrats have only lost 91 registered voters since Kamala Harris’ electoral defeat last November.
This is the first time that Republicans have led in voter registration in Nevada in 18 years. While they’re red by a microscopic margin as of now, just wait until Scott Pressler pays them a visit.
