Much like the residents of Martha’s Vineyard, New York City’s Eric Adams is learning that it’s easier to profess being a sanctuary city than actually provide the absurd accommodations of one.
Tens of thousands of supposed “asylum seekers” have been bussed to NYC from the Southern Border at the direction of Texas Gov. Abbott, quickly leading to Adams declaring that his city of 8.5 million “doesn’t have room” for them. That raises obvious questions, such as; if a city of nearly 10 million can’t accommodate thousands of illegals - how can any place in America be expected to?
Fortunately for Adams, a number of illegals have decided that despite coming from impoverished countries plagued by violence, Democrat-run NYC isn’t the best alternative - and Adams is paying them to leave.
According to the New York Post:
Disgruntled migrants fed up with the Big Apple’s crime and grime are taking off to the Great White North — on bus rides paid for by New York taxpayers.
National Guard soldiers have been helping distribute tickets at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan to migrants who want to head upstate before crossing into Canada, several migrants said.
Venezuelan native Raymond Peña and his family arrived at a gas station bus stop in Plattsburgh, NY — about 20 miles south of the Canadian border — at 4 a.m. Sunday.
“The military gave me and my family free bus tickets,” Peña said. “I am going to Canada for a better quality of life for my family.”
A National Guard source confirmed that soldiers at the bus terminal were directing migrants to workers who hand out the free tickets.
Mayor Eric Adams’ administration pays various companies that run programs for migrants that include “re-ticketing” so they can travel to other cities, a City Hall source said.
According to an analysis from FAIR back in October, over 5.5 million illegal aliens have crossed the border since Biden took office - and it’s only increased since then.
