South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem announced that her state would be sending National Guard troops to Texas to help secure the border.

Noem said, âTomorrow morning Iâm officially announcing up to 50 National Guard troops to Texas to help secure our border. The Biden Administration has failed to keep America safe. We shouldnât be making our own communities vulnerable by sending police to fix Bidenâs border crisis.â
South Dakota is not the only state stepping up to help Texas try to quell the crisis on the border that Joe Biden has created. Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts (R) and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) have also announced that they will be stepping up to help Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) secure the border.
Earlier this month, Abbott and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey (R) co-wrote a letter explaining why they felt compelled to act:
âSecuring our border with Mexico is the federal governmentâs responsibility. But the Biden administration has proven unwilling or unable to do the job. This failure to enforce federal immigration laws causes banns that spill over into every State. The cartels will see to it that their deadly fentanyl and human-trafficking victims reach far and wide. The convicted criminals they smuggle into the homeland will bring recidivism with them to far too many of your communities. And although now people are coming to our border from as far away as Senegal, Bangladesh, and Uzbekistan, the cartels are not exactly screening for threats to public health or national security.â
Inevitably, all of this will be challenged in court, but it’s far from certain Texas will lose. After all, they are being heavily impacted by Joe Biden’s refusal to follow the laws on the books. Quite frankly, Texas, along with citizens victimized by illegal aliens, should be able to sue the Federal Government for damages. After all, if people are getting hurt because the Federal Government is knowingly ignoring the law, why shouldn’t they be held accountable for their actions? In the interim, good for the states that are trying to help Texas fix this crisis that Joe Biden is causing.
