Vladimir Zelensky hasn’t learned a single thing following the White House blowup, where the suitless leader insulted Donald Trump and JD Vance while holding a tin cup to the American taxpayer.
Zelensky signaled that he was on board to sign a mineral deal, comments likely made only to generate headlines about his willingness to make a deal, as the deal was identical to the one already rejected. Unlike Trump, who wants to end the war, Zelensky said that the war is “very far away,” further signaling that he’s worlds apart from Trump on the issue.
Trump fired back immediately in a Truth Social post. “This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelenskyy, and America will not put up with it for much longer! It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelenskyy, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the U.S. – Probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against Russia. What are they thinking?”
Trump has since paused military aid to Ukraine - which is drawing criticism from Europe - which has spent more money on Russian fossil fuels than Ukraine aid last year.
