As Democrats delude themselves that they’re making history with their impeachment proceedings, it’s becoming clearer that impeachment is literally the only way they have to prevent President Donald Trump  from winning the 2020 election.

Ironically, the partisan witch hunt has only compounded that problem for Democrats as the public turns against him. A recent poll from USA Today this week found that Trump beats out all of the top Democrats in a head-to-head race. The poll shows Trump beating former Vice President Joe Biden by 3 points, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders by 5 percentage points, and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren by 8 points.

President Trump also beats former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg by 9 points and South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg by 10 points.

Trump’s fortune is also rising in another market of public opinion.

Today, President Trump became the favorite to win the 2020 election in the betting markets for the first time.

The implied odds, sourced from Betfair, are as follows:

Or put in other terms, for every $100 bet, $50.3 is now going towards Trump.

Bear in mind that this is only at a snapshot in time. While betting odds historically have outperformed polls in their predictive accuracy, the betting odds did have Trump as the underdog on election day. As one graph from the odds aggregator PredictWise showed on election night, Trump’s odds of victory went as low as 7% at 8:41pm before skyrocketing to 100%.

That being said, this is all part of a larger trend where Trump is gaining in popularity and Democrats lagging. Keep it up, Democrats!
