New Jersey Senator Cory Booker announced he will run for President in 2020.
Booker made his announcement on his new website which included a two-minute campaign launch video.
“In America we have a common pain, but what we’re lacking is a sense of common purpose,” he says in the video.
“I believe that we can build a country where no one is forgotten, no one is left behind; where parents can put food on the table; where there are good-paying jobs with good benefits in every neighborhood,” he continues.

Fox News reports that Booker skipped setting up an exploratory committee as a first step towards his White House run. His campaign aides said Booker will visit Iowa February 8-9 and then head straight to South Carolina February 10-11. He will also go to New Hampshire over President’s Day weekend.
Booker joins a long list of Democrats who have thrown their hats into the race. Among them, Senator Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA), Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) and former HUD secretary Julian Castro. Sen Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand have set up exploratory committees.
