CNN’s Scott Jennings, who has quickly earned himself the title of “only sane person on CNN” in record time, took his fellow panelists to task over their whining about Donald Trump nominating Pete Hegseth to head the Department of Defense.
The left wasn’t going to like any Trump DOD pick simply by virtue of Donald Trump having picked them, and are willing to pull any excuse out of their asses to justify themselves. Quite amusingly in this case, the panel of TV news pundits opted to argue that Hegseth is unqualified because he’s also a TV news pundit.
Jennings took them to task.
“Does anyone have confidence in the current leadership of the Pentagon, and the way the defense situation has been operating for the last several years?” he asked.
Making note that the American people once again “voted against the expected Washington pick,” Jennings highlighted all the failures of the Washington consensus; “I mean, from the Afghanistan pullout, which was an extreme debacle for which no one was held accountable. We’ve had spy balloons flying over the United States, we built a $300 million pier as a public relations stunt which wound up killing an American service member.”
“I’d say I’ve had just about enough of the ‘so-called insiders’ running the defense industry.”
