In a truly amazing sight, the same liberals who see Nazis everywhere somehow missed the one directly in front of them, who they heaped praise on.
While being visited by the biggest beneficiary of U.S. foreign aid, Vladimir Zelensky, Canadian House of Commons speaker and Liberal Party member Anthony Rota celebrated a man he described as a Ukrainian war hero.
98-Year-Old Yaroslav Hunka wiped away tears as he was praised a “hero” for fighting against the Russians, who were part of the Allied forces, in World War II. “We have here in the chamber today a Ukrainian Canadian WWII veteran who fought for Ukrainian independence against the Russians and continues to support the troops today, even at his age of 98,” Rota said, as the House erupted in applause, and then began a standing ovation. “He’s a Ukrainian hero, a Canadian hero, and we thank him for all his service.”
Hunka was a guest of Zelensky and Canadian PM Justin Trudeau.
That Hunka was fighting the Russians should’ve raised red flags for anyone marginally familiar with WWII - and it was quickly revealed that he served in the 14th Waffen-SS Grenadier Division, a voluntary unit made up mostly of Ukranians under the command of Hitler that is accused of massacring Polish and Jewish civilians.
Among those in attendance applauding was Liberal Party MP Yaara Saks, who infamously claimed that the anti-lockdown Canadian trucker protesters chanting “honk honk” (comparing their political opponents to clowns) was actually using coded language for “heil Hitler.”
Speaker Rota has since apologized for praising Hunka, claiming to have “become aware of more information which causes me to regret my decision to do so” - though anyone with even an eighth grade understanding of WWII could’ve correctly guessed who Hunka’s allegiance would’ve been to.
