CNN announced Wednesday that Kinzinger, who officially left Congress this week after choosing not to seek reelection in the 2022 midterms, has joined the network as a senior political commentator.
Kinzinger made his debut as a CNN contributor on "Erin Burnett Outfront." "Congressman, we really are thrilled to have you onboard. Welcome," CNN anchor Erin Burnett told the ex-lawmaker. "It's great to be on the team, by the way," Kinzinger replied. "Thank you. I'm excited."

Kinzinger appeared frequently on CNN in the past few years, where he tried to portray himself as "one of the good ones" for his work on the discredited January 6 Committee, which ended up recommending charges against Donald Trump that even the Democrat-run Senate didn't bother to act on knowing that they would fail miserably.
As one of the ten House Republicans who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump, Kinzinger didn't run for re-election in 2022, knowing he was guaranteed to lose.
