Senator John Kennedy excoriated Charlie Baker, the head of the NCAA, during a Senate Judiciary Hearing.
Baker was formally the Governor of Massachusetts from 2015-2023, representing the RINO faction of the Republican Party.
While the hearing had to do with sports gambling, a handful of Republicans used the opportunity to bring up the trans sports issue, which Baker seemed to agree was ridiculous.
“A transgender woman is a biological male,. And a biological male is always going to have a physical advantage competing in a collegiate sport against a biological female. Isn’t that true?” Kennedy asked Baker.
Baker agreed that men have an advantage “every time” when competing against women, to which Kennedy followed up by asking why his organization hasn’t done more to ban men from women’s sports.
Baker then tried to blame a lack of “legal clarity” for him not having a backbone, as opposed to the real reason, his fear of the most hysterical activist types on Earth. “Over the course of the past two years, five federal court cases involving this question… five federal judges have all sided with participation as the standard,” Baker replied.
“So you’re saying you don’t have a choice?” Kennedy followed up. “I’m saying that under the current dynamic, there is no clarity on this issue legally,” Baker responded.
In one part of the exchange that went viral, Kennedy asked Baker “Why don’t you go to Amazon and buy a spine online and take a stand?” later pressing Baker “That’s what you're there for. Why don’t you stand up and say, in front of God and country: ‘Federal law is wrong, and the NCAA believes in fair competition. We also believe in equality. … In America, you can be whatever you want to be. You can be whomever you want to be. But our job is to promote fairness in sports. Biological males are not going to be allowed to compete against biological females.’”
